Quicktime 7 reports that there is a Timecode track, but Avid’s timecode burn-in effect just shows N. Any thoughts on what Avid’s problem with this source media is?

Is there any way to generate an EDL to send these edits to online? But equally as important, what kind of codecs are these files in? Are they quicktimes? Image sequences? When you say “generate If it’s a Resolve, try bringing some clips in and see what TC Resolve reports. If it does not, then I can see three options:. I haven’t used it in years, but it can change things on Quicktimes like timecode. No I don’t believe there IS such a thing as 18fps timecode. Or to windowburn counter time or clip frame number instead of timecode?

We need to export an EDL to send to finishing house so they can conform from the camera sources, color, finish, etc. Spitballing here. Or, more applicable, one is editing with mp4s which DON’T carry timecode? My point is, as long as the conforming tool reads these clips the same way the AVID does, it shouldn’t matter what the heck the source clips are carrying.

Jason Sedmak: is it not the same situation if one is editing, say Hence my suggestion to add a standardized TC for tracking and reconforming. I’d just manually copy the clip’s starting TC to the TC24 column, and then MC tracks from there as it were a 24fps clip. On the conform side, they may do the same thing, and as longs as everyone tracks each frame and counts as 24TC, all will line up. Page 1 of 1 9 items. EDL from 18fps source media. Reply Contact. Re: EDL from 18fps source media. Good luck, j. MC Ultimate Hi Jason, Thanks for your thoughts! Our sources are QT ProRes. I would reach out to the finish house and see if they can take an AAF instead… much more flexible. Stick a file or two into Resolve and see what it reads timecode-wise. Just so you know, just because Avid shows “0” timecode doesn’t mean there isn’t any Thus, if something like Resolve also reads it the same, then confirming it should work, you just may not be able to use an edl as they are classicly limited to traditional rates.

Good luck! Jason Sedmak:. I gotcha Thu, Dec 2 AM. EDL from 18fps source media Reply Contact I’ve got a bunch of 18fps super8 media cut into a 24fps project.
